Cataract Surgeon - Comprehensive Ophthalmologist
Dr. Glen Weiss grew up on Long Island. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He completed his medical school training at the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Columbia University in New York City, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. After an internship at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ, he completed an ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Edward S. Harkness Eye Institute at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. During his residency training, he was chosen to serve as chief resident in ophthalmology.
Dr. Weiss joined Drs. Title, Aventuro, and Rosenthal (now Rockland Eye Physicians & Surgeons) in practice in 1996, bringing modern cataract surgery techniques to Rockland County. Dr. Weiss is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He has served as Instructor in Clinical Ophthalmology at Columbia University, where he taught in the resident Eye Clinic and devoted much time to teaching eye surgery to ophthalmologists in training. He is an attending ophthalmologist at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern. Dr. Weiss is a founding member of Ramapo Valley Surgical Center in Ramsey, NJ, and has served on its board of managers since its inception. Dr. Weiss is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of many professional societies including the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the New York State Ophthalmological Society. Dr. Weiss also volunteers for EyeCare America, a public-service program of the Foundation of the American Academy of Ophthalmology that provides eye exams at no out-of-pocket costs to eligible senior citizens.
Dr. Weiss offers comprehensive ophthalmology services, taking care of patients with all types of eye diseases, including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes, and dry eyes. His practice focus is on cataract surgery, specializing in state of the art surgical techniques and the implantation of multifocal and astigmatism-correcting intraocular lenses that reduce or eliminate the need for glasses after surgery.
Dr. Weiss lives with his wife and two children in Bergen County, NJ. In his spare time, he enjoys dining out and travelling around the world.
